Q&A With Kelly

What do you enjoy most about your work?

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a therapist is the ability to offer compassion to those who are navigating difficult times. The therapeutic relationship is unique in its capacity to provide a safe and nurturing environment. Witnessing clients feel understood and supported as they explore their vulnerabilities and pain is incredibly meaningful. This connection, built on empathy and care, creates a powerful space for healing and growth. It is an honor to be a source of comfort and encouragement, helping individuals to feel less alone in their struggles.

I began my career as a school counselor which gave me a lot of understanding and appreciation for people of all walks of life, I work hard to create an environment for everyone to feel accepted, understood, and comfortable being themselves. Working in the private practice setting has allowed me new ways to be creative in the therapy room and embrace the ever unfolding nature of the different developmental stages and persceptives of my clients.

I love my dog, her name is Marilu but I call her Lu. I also moved to Austin from Chicago and love the energy, the people, and the food Austin has to offer. It’s a wonderful city, even in the summer, but I especially love Austin in the winter!
